Bristol Ballet presents "Coppelia" at the Paramount

March 31, 2014

The Bristol Ballet will be performing "Coppelia” on Saturday, April 5 at 7pm and Sunday, April 6 at 2pm at the Paramount Center for the Arts. Coppelia is a charming, funny ballet full of humor, classical ballet, lively character dancing, and ballet mime. Franz falls in love with Coppelia, not realizing that she is really a doll built by Dr. Coppelius. Franz’s fiancé, Swanhilda, becomes jealous of the attention Franz gives Coppelia, and sneaks into Dr. Coppelius’ workshop to meet Coppelia. Upon discovering that she is really a doll, Swanhilda plays a trick on Dr. Coppelius to make him think his doll has really come to life. This ballet is lively and fun, and appropriate for all ages. Partially funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. For further information, contact the Paramount at 423-274-8920.
