BPL's Homegrown Series Presents Vegetable Extension Specialist, Dr. Annette Wszelaki!

Dr. Annette Wszelaki, Vegetable Extension Specialist at the University of Tennessee will be speaking to the community as a part of the Bristol Public Library’s Homegrown Series on Sunday, May 15th at 3 p.m.

Dr. Wszelaki’s has a strong background in alternative crops, organic farming, the best uses of farming land, and promoting farmers’ markets. She will be discussing vegetable gardening in containers and the benefits.

She has statewide responsibilities for developing a comprehensive educational program in commercial vegetable production. The main focuses of her extension program include production and variety recommendations, diversifying production, developing alternative crops, organic and sustainable production, crop sensory and nutrition evaluations, and postharvest handling.

This event will be held in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the Bristol Public Library. Dr. Wszelaki’s presentation is free and open to the public, no ticket is required.
