Border Bash to host Sam Lewis & Kenny Vaughan!

May 14, 2012

Set in Historic Downtown Bristol, Border Bash continues on May 18, 2012 in the 800 block of State Street. The evening’s events will start with children’s activities, crafters, and concessions at 6PM. Live music begins at 7:00PM with Kenny Vaughn, followed by Sam Lewis. As always, Border Bash is free to the public! “The first Border Bash held May 4th, was a tremendous success!” commented Christina Blevins, Executive Director of Believe in Bristol. “We were blessed with perfect weather and the community supported not just the concert but our local economy by having dinner, shopping and investing back in downtown, that’s what Border Bash is all about,” Blevins added. The May 18 Border Bash will feature the music of Kenny Vaughan & Sam Lewis. About Kenny Vaughan: Born in Oklahoma, raised in Denver, Kenny Vaughan's earliest memories of music are his father's jazz record collection. One of the most sought after session players in Nashville, the guitarist knew early on he wanted to make a career out of making music. Kenny’s musical evolution continued when an invitation to join a neighborhood rock n' roll party band led to the formation of The Jonny 3, a legendary Denver band that played the upstart punk rock scene. Following his jaunt into punk rock, Vaughan continued to play the honky-tonk scene before moving to Nashville in 1987. In 2001, Vaughan became a part of "Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives." Vaughan penned all of the songs on his new release, "V" and keeps busy touring with Stuart and performing every Monday night in Nashville fronting his own trio.

About Sam Lewis: Sam Lewis is anything but ordinary. From his nomad childhood to his attention to detail, he and his music are traveled and versed beyond their years. Lewis takes simplicity from Willie Nelson, poetry from Bob Dylan, soul from Ray Charles, stage presence from Leon Russell, rich delivery from Van Morrison and combines them to create one authentic, solid message..."
