Be a GREEN HERO and join the Rhythm & Roots recycling team!

August 12, 2015

Each year, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion works toward a greener festival. Over the past few years, BRRR’s Green Team has implemented a recycling program which has steadily reduced the amount of waste andensured that waste water and cooking oil are disposed of properly. We also partner with local environmental organizations and businesses to provide educational materials and activities about being green. And this year, we want YOU to be a GREEN HERO and join our festival recycling team!

The BRRR 2015 volunteer application is now open and we’d love to have you volunteer with Green Team! Our job during the festival is mainly focused on recycling – cardboard from the vendors, plastic and cans throughout the festival footprint and the beer gardens, and paper – and some help with the Green Team tent at Children’s Day.

Here are a few important things to know about Green Team volunteering and how to sign up:

  • Volunteers sign up via the BRRR volunteer application form – please check Recycle/Green Team as your area of interest:http://www.bristolrhythm.com/volunteers/
  • Signing up as a volunteer gets you a one-day pass to the festival and a GREAT Green Team volunteer t-shirt.
  • The sooner you sign up, the more chance you have of getting the day / time you want for their shift. And you are welcome to sign up for more than one shift!
  • Volunteers under 18MUSTbe accompanied by a parent the whole time; volunteers under 21 cannot work the beer gardens so please let us know your age on the volunteer application.
  • Once you have signed up, we will be in touch within a couple of weeks to confirm your shift and give you further information about volunteering.

We really appreciate our volunteers from last year, and hope to see you as part of the Green Team at BRRR 2015. For more information, email Rene atrrodgers@birthplaceofcountrymusic.org.
