March 17, 2014

You have a camera with lots of different settings, but you haven't been able to get the pictures you want. If that sounds like you, bring your camera and get ready to get engaged during this crash course with photographer Briana Morris, a juried 606 artist since 2010. This $40 Basic Photography Crash Course will be held between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 606 State Street Gallery, Bristol, TN. RSVP is required on the event page on Facebook, at info@606statestreetgallery.com, or 423.573.2438. Payment accepted on the day of the course.

Briana Morris is a photographer and designer from Bristol, VA. She exhibits at Heartwood in Abingdon and frequently sells her work at 606 State Street Gallery in Bristol. Briana has a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media and has received several awards for her photos. Briana is a member of the State Street Artist Cooperative, the Twin City Photo Club, ‘Round the Mountain, PRSA, and AAF. She enjoys exploring various areas of photography, and is always learning.

Briana will provide tips, techniques, and examples that you can actually practice during the crash course, and you'll get a chance to ask questions and gain helpful opinions from others learning alongside you.

Topics covered include learning your camera's capabilities, composing a photograph, the importance of lighting, editing your photos, and more.

Again, don't forget your camera so you can practice in the class!

As part of 606's Photographer's Month, this basic photography crash course will be followed by a photography workshop on lighting. The lighting workshop will be led by Mike Waddell, another 606 photographer, and will take place on the following Saturday (March 29) from 11am-2pm at 606 State Street Gallery in Downtown Bristol.
