Art in Public Places 2010 selection process has begun

Art in Public Places of Bristol is pleased to announce that the selection process for our 2010-11 Outdoor Sculpture Competition is now under way. Forty-two sculpture entries were submitted by 21 different sculptors for this year's competition. The winning selections will be announced on June 15.

The juror for the 2010-11 competition is Hank Foreman, an artist, art administrator and educator at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Foreman serves as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Arts and Cultural Affairs and administers the programs of An Appalachian Summer Festival, the Performing Art Series, and the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts. He also serves ASU as Director and Chief Curator of the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts.

The sculptures are scheduled to be installed August 4, 2010, in downtown Bristol, TN/VA, and will remain in Bristol through August of 2011.
