2nd Annual Butterfly Ball in Downtown Bristol — Sponsored by the Junior League of Bristol, TN-VA

May 03, 2011

The Junior League of Bristol is holding their 2nd Annual Butterfly Ball on May 7, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the Historic Train Station in Downtown Bristol. The night will include dancing with Christabel and the Jons, a folkly swing band who has played Bristol Rhythm and Roots, Bonnaroo and Bele Chere Festivals, just to name a few. There will also be Heavy Hors d'oeuvres, Cash Bar, a Silent Auction and raffles. Tickets are $35 per person/$60 per couple.

Butterfly Ball is part of the Junior League’s ongoing fundraising efforts. All proceeds from the event benefit the community at large through Junior League projects in the Bristol area specifically targeting women and children. Current projects are the ‘Backpack for Kids’ program, where the Junior League helps to fund and fill backpacks with food for needy school-age children, the ‘Caterpillar Crawl’ — An educational scavenger hunt through Downtown Bristol that encourages children to read and explore as they find hidden sculptures based on the book ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ by Eric Carle, and Party with a Purpose where the Junior League provides Holiday and Birthday Parties for children staying in shelters during their special day.
