Theatre Bristol holding open auditions for I Hate Shakespeare

February 15, 2011

Theatre Bristol is holding open auditions for its May comedy, I Hate Shakespeare on Wednesday, February 16 and Friday, February 18 at 7 p.m. The cast allows for as few as 3 females, 2 males but as many as 5-43 actors possible, ages 10 and up. Prepared materials are not needed at the audition, however we ask all auditioning to wear appropriate footwear for movement and bring a calendar of potential conflicts. I Hate Shakespeare is on of Theatre Bristol’s crossover shows with 12 daytime school performances and two weekends of public performances staring May 5 through May 22, 2011. All performances of I Hate Shakespeare will be in Theatre Bristol’s ARTspace.

We hate Shakespeare! At least that's what the audience thinks until they get a rip-roaring rundown of Shakespeare's classics. With zombies, talking cows, and an appearance by Jerry Springer, I Hate Shakespeare! is a hilarious and fast-paced introduction to Shakespeare — with a modern twist. Plus, someone gets a pie in the face.
