Bristol Public Library Hosts Health Education Series 2014 Event on Acupuncture

Bristol Public Library’s popular Health Education Series 2014 continues Thursday, September 11th at 6:30 PM with a presentation on Integrative Medicine and Acupuncture: Healing-oriented Medicine for the Whole Person. Dr. N. Anton Borja will be the speaker. As defined by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health, integrative medicine "combines mainstream medical therapies and complementary and alternative medicine therapies for which there is some high-quality scientific evidence of safety and effectiveness."

N. Anton Borja, D.O., M.A.T.C.M., is the Director for the Integrative Medicine Clinic, and Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Family Medicine, Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University. He received his BA from The Colorado College, his Master’s in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine from Yo San University and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona. Dr. Borja completed his medical training at Lutheran Family Health Center in Brooklyn, NY, his internship at Columbia University, NY Presbyterian and his Family Medicine residency at ETSU.

The Health Education Series 2014 is a partnership of the Quillen College of Medicine, Wellmont Health Systems, the Bristol Family Medicine program, and the Bristol Public Library. Presentations are given on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM from April through December in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room at the BPL. All presentations are open and free to the public.
