State Street resurfacing begins June 7

The Cities of Bristol, TN and Bristol VA will begin resurfacing of State Street from 5th Street/Lee Street to 2nd Street/Washington Street and East State Street from Pennsylvania Avenue/Goodson Street to Sullivan Lane on Sunday, June 7th at 6:00 pm. The work will consist of removal of the existing asphalt surface followed by placement of a new surface. The project is anticipated to be completed in less than two weeks and the majority of the work will occur from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

The contractor for both cities will make every effort to minimize inconveniences. Accommodations will always be made to allow business owners and residents access to their property. In the interest of safety, please try to avoid entering active construction areas, be alert for moving heavy equipment, and discourage children from playing in these areas.
